Thank you for enrolling on interactive medical terminology course. We hope it will improve your understanding of the language of medicine and complement your medical studies.
For full benefit it is advisable to study the units in order beginning with topic one called The Components of Medical Words. This section explains how medical words can be analyzed and understood; a good understanding of this section will enable you to proceed efficiently through all other units. It is also useful to study topic two on Cells,Tissues, Organs and Systems before studying the body systems as this unit explains words associated with the levels of organization of the human body. All units can be studied separately should you wish to learn words associated with a particular system.

Medical Terminology Examination (FlashPlayer required)

Try the medical terminology examination by completing the following assessments, note:

  • To pass each assessment you must score a minimum of 90%.
  • You are allowed three attempts at each assessment.
  • A re-assessment can be taken after six hours have elapsed.
  • There is a time limit for each assesssment.
  • Before attempting Assessments 6 and 7 revise the sets of exam abbreviations in Unit 22.
